Setting up your computer

We require your PC to be setup to "Automatically obtain an IP address". We also require that you disable Internet Connection Sharing on your computer, if it is enabled. Follow the network setup guide to set up your computer for 3xtreme LAN.

LOGs (Large Organised Games)

3xtreme LAN organises games during the event, which are organised for as many people as we can convince to play the game. We will be running several LOGs during 3xtreme LAN. Some of these may include: Battlefield 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, Age of Empires, Warcraft 3, CS:Source, Need For Speed Underground 2, Act of War, Call of Duty and Quake 4. We try to represent a diverse range of games and gamers and support the latest games.

Food

We sell cold cans of Coke and other softdrinks at the event, as well as some chips and other goodies. We also organise a Pizza run. The pizza run costs a small additional amount, and is at dinner time on Saturday. You can order a pizza through our intranet website, and we buy all the pizzas in bulk to get a better rate.

There are also 4 Cafes nearby on the Monash campus, where you can get hot food, coffee etc.:

Prizes

Prizes are not yet announced, but as we get closer to the event we will have more information. At past events we have given away up to $2500 worth of prizes!

Other things to know about 3xtreme LAN

We use the projection screen in the hall to the full potential at 3xtreme - our Intranet website will be up on the projector, showing what games are being played. You will be able to put your game (with details of version, IP etc.) up on the projector along with all the other games. Now there's no excuse for not playing games - you can look on the projector and jump into a game that's happening right now.

When you aren't playing games, there are a lot of things you can spend time on. There will be an outside cricket match. The pool table will hopefully be making another appearance at 3xtreme LAN (although it is not confirmed.) There will be a relaxation room - complete with home theatre setup. Perfect for watching DVD's or playing some Xbox.

There'll be lots more added to this page in the next few weeks as we get information on competitions, prizes and the like. If you would like a question answered, you can use the Forum or IRC (Internet Relay Chat).

Ticket sales are not yet available via the website. When they are, you will be able to purchase your ticket online.

Purchasing a ticket online requires a credit card or a bank account with a direct debit facility. Most bank accounts have this feature available via Online Banking.
